The RCC Brazil Mission Team arrived back in Manaus this afternoon from a four day tour of the villages along the Amazon River. Ray of Hope Brazil took the RCC Mission Team on their boat to help build a church on Monday as well as deliver supplies. Tuesday the mission team split up into two groups. One delivered water filters to hopes in remote villages and the other group helped with filling sandbags on a small island down the river and then deliver them to a village that is finishing work on a brand new church. Wednesday the team prayed over the opening of the new church and gave the new members Bibles in their own language. Later the some of the team went out to deliver another water filter to another home near the river.

Thursday the RCC Brazil Mission Team got to see the new building on an island that will be used for pastoral training and medical clinics.

Friday the team will visit an aircraft hanger that performs emergancy flights to remote areas of the Amazon River/Rain Forest.

The RCC Mission Team arrived at 5:30am (Brazil time) & was met by Pastor Aurino Banderia & his wife Grace. The Banderia´s picked us up at the airport in a bus and drove us to the hotel Do Largo. The RCC team got some breakfast and rest before heading out to pick up some supplies for the trip up the Amazon River. Pastor Wilson Kannenberg & his wife Lori met us at the hotel, what a blessing both families have been to the RCC Mission Team!

Grace & Lori took us on a tour of the Manaus to get supplies & we also purchased Bibles that we will be giving away.

They’re Off

The RCC Brazil team left Bloomington IL Airport early this afternoon.  After a 7 hour layover in Atlanta, they will be headed to Manaus.  Everyone was excited and anticipating a life changing experience.

Pray for the team as they fly through the night, arriving in Manaus early Saturday morning.  Tomorrow will be focused on meeting our Brazilian partners, getting acclimated, and preparing for the time on the Amazon.  Pray for rest, good health, and open hearts.

Prayer Points – Thursday March 18

The team will be finishing up at their jobs today, working on packing personal and team items, and generally getting ready for their 9 day experience.  We encourage you to pray for the following today:

* That the members will not be overwhelmed with last minute things that need be done.

* Peace and Protection for the families that will be left behind.

* Heart and Mind preparation for each team member

* For open doors that will be waiting for the team in Brazil.

Thanks for your involvement with the team through your prayers.

Thanks to all who have given financially to make this possible.  Stay tuned for updates throughout the trip.

Final Session

The RCC Brazil team has their final orientation session on Sunday night.  Going over the packing list, discussing travel tips, and praying together will be the key points of the night.

There is still time for you to participate with the team prayerfully and financially.  Make sure to check out the previous post for all the details.  And check back often as the team updates throughout their mission trip.

Not Long Now

Just a few more days until the RCC team heads to Brazil.  Part of the work the team will be engaged in, is to deliver several items in the villages they visit.  Here are the items and the cost for each:

- Water Filters – $85
